"Students here take on the leadership role as a responsibility not a power and they have great role models in their faculty and staff!"

"Hello I am a student currently attending AFA. This is my 10th year at this school and is one of the best experiences in my life. This school offers so much more then you think. There is so much to do after the school day such as playing many of our athletics or going sailing in the bay across the street. The academics are great. This school has many graduates that have a very successful career."

“I attended Admiral Farragut Academy for 7 years as a student. There were the good times and the bad, as in most educational forums, but as I grew up, I realized it was me that created those harder times. I learned discipline, self-respect, dignity, and honor. As a student, you are a part of something bigger than just being involved in classes and sports. There is a sense of family and belonging, which is why a number of the instructors that were there 15 years ago, are still there today. Many of them pushing 30 years of service, one of which has been there for 33. Admiral Farragut Academy deserves a look, whether your child is looking to take the military route, engineering, mathematics, marine science, or aviation. There are a number of opportunities for students to excel or broaden their horizons in a true multicultural environment, filled with students and families from all around the globe and various states. The only school to have two of the twelve Apollo moonwalking Astronauts as alumni continues to impress even today! With students entering their senior year with their Commercial Pilots License. Thanks to the drive of our professional educators Admiral Farragut Academy is able to take a young persons hopes and dreams and put content and direction behind those thoughts. After nearly learning what I know now, I would do it all over again and then some! Allow your children to reach for the stars and invest in their future now. They will not disappoint you!”
USF graduate student who observed our High School science classrooms:
"The only things I knew about military schools before this trip were things I’ve learned from movies, so when I heard we were going to Admiral Farragut Academy I definitely had some preconceived notions. I had imagined a super strict, army-like atmosphere where everyone marched around uniforms and the buildings looked like barracks. The only part I got right was the uniforms. The campus was not at all intimidating, it was beautiful; it seemed more like a mansion than a school! The kids walked around the campus (no marching involved) like they would in any other school, and there were fun posters and decorations on the wall to go along with the military themed ones. When we entered the classroom I was even more surprised. The class we observed was extremely laid back; the students joked around with each other and with Mrs. Deitche, she even said this was a calm day for them! I was also surprised by the amount of animals available for the students to observe and care for; in the classroom there were lizards, a snake, fish, and a touch tank, then when we walked the campus we saw a turtle/tortoise habitat, some rabbits, more aquariums and a snapping turtle! I’m sure I’m even forgetting some of the things I saw, there was so much! All in all, I was extremely impressed by how many extracurricular science opportunities there were at the school. I tried not to say it this time, but I really am jealous of all those students! Where’s a time machine when I need one?"

"What an incredible road of opportunity we started when my wife and I discovered Admiral Farragut Academy's website. From the very first time we visited Farragut’s campus we were so hopeful this would all come together. As we went through the various steps involved, meeting a host of great AFA faculty and staff along the way, we become more excited about the opportunity that might lay ahead if our son was accepted. After meeting several faculty and staff, and the most congenial group of parents we could have imagined, we concluded we had been introduced to our journey. When we received our son's acceptance, we could not have been more excited for him and his future. So a new journey has started this August, 2012. This is a huge blessing for our family and we are thankful that Admiral Farragut Academy is now a big part of our lives."

"I have experienced both the Lower and Middle Divisions and I am so happy that my children are in an environment of respect and accountability. Our society has lost this and it is harder and harder to find, but not at Farragut. The class sizes are small and the teachers are not only caring but teach 'outside the box' to instill a love of learning. I don't know of another school where the kids have access to amenities like; waterfront, touch tank, swimming pool, 16,000 volume library, and a full service dining hall all on 35 beautiful acres in sunny Florida. We love it!"

"My son started in 8th grade and loves it. He is excited about school and has really come alive in this environment. The teachers are all so wonderful and accessible. They do care about their students! I even accompanied them on a field trip and their level of commitment exceeds what I had hoped for. This school is a must visit and see for yourself. It is worth every sacrifice for my son to be able to attend. Our only regret it that we did not start sooner. P.S. If you have concerns about learning differences talk to them. My son has dyslexia and was able to get the help he needed from them."

"Of the many things in my life that I have to be thankful for, the two years I spent at AFA are one of the most special to me. The values taught and the education and discipline I received helped shape me into the man I am today."
