Admissions Process Checklist

Grades PreK-5 | Student Admissions Process

You must submit all of the items below to complete your application file.

[   ]  Apply online and pay the non-refundable $100 application fee by debit or credit card.

[   ]  If you plan to apply for financial aid - start the financial aid application now

[   ]  One teacher recommendation (if applicable)

[   ]  Grades and standardized test scores (from the current year and previous two years, if applicable)

[   ]  Results of any individual testing and evaluations on record

[   ]  Schedule a student shadow day

[   ]  Schedule a tour - A personalized tour of our campus is a wonderful way for you and your child to learn about Admiral Farragut Academy’s Elementary School, visit classes, meet other students, and talk to faculty. A personal visit and campus tour are a required portion of the admissions process.

Grades 6-12 | U.S. Student Admissions Process

You must submit all of the items below to complete your application file.

[   ]  Apply online and pay the non-refundable $100 application fee by debit or credit card.

[   ]  If you plan to apply for financial aid - start the financial aid application now

[   ]  Submit two (2) teacher recommendations required from both English and Math teachers - The teacher recommendations may be submitted online (link to form is provided to your teachers specified in the application), printed and faxed or mailed, or scanned and emailed to admissions@farragut.org. You are responsible for following up with the teachers to make sure they complete the recommendations.

[   ]  Official school transcripts from the previous 3 years of schooling - Transcripts must be mailed or delivered directly to Admiral Farragut Academy from the most recent school in a signed, sealed envelope.

[   ]  Student Interview - This can be an in-person interview or a Skype video interview.

[   ]  Results of any individual testing and evaluations on record

[   ]  Schedule a tour - A personalized tour of our campus is a wonderful way for you and your student to learn about Admiral Farragut Academy to visit classes, meet other students, and talk to faculty. At this time our admissions team can also conduct your student interview.

[   ]  Schedule a student shadow day (optional, Tuesdays only)

Grades 6-12 | International Student Admissions Process

You must submit all of the items below to complete your application file.

[   ]  Apply online and pay the non-refundable $100 application fee by debit or credit card.

[   ]  Submit two (2) teacher recommendations required from both English and Math teachers - The teacher recommendations may be submitted online (link to form is provided to your teachers specified in the application), printed and faxed or mailed, or scanned and emailed to admissions@farragut.org. You are responsible for following up with the teachers to make sure they complete the recommendations.

[   ]  Official school transcripts* from the previous 3 years of schooling - Transcripts should include curriculum information from your previous school and how it compares to the American system. Transcripts must be mailed or delivered directly to Admiral Farragut Academy from the most recent school, in a signed, sealed envelope. *Transcripts must be translated into English. We need both translated and untranslated versions of your transcripts.

[   ]  Student Interview - This can be an in-person interview or a Skype video interview.

[   ]  Schedule a tour - A personalized tour of our campus is a wonderful way for you and your student to learn about Admiral Farragut Academy to visit classes, meet other students, and talk to faculty. At this time our admissions team can also conduct your student interview.

[   ]  Results of any individual testing and evaluations on record

[   ]  English language proficiency scores (TOEFL or ITEP SLATE) - International applicants from non-English speaking countries are required to demonstrate competency in English in one of the following ways:

    • TOEFL - Test of English as a Foreign Language (Farragut school code: 1970)
    • ITEP SLATE - Minimum score of 2.5 required

ESOL Test Requirements

    • New 11th grade students must qualify for the Advanced ESOL class.
    • Below are suggested class placements, however, final decisions will be at the discretion of the High School Division Head, the ESOL Director, and the ESOL Instructor.

[   ]  Results of any individual testing and evaluations on record

[   ]  Proof of financial responsibility - Family must provide documentary evidence that sufficient funds are or will be available to defray all expenses during the entire period of anticipated study.

[   ]  I-20 Information - A deposit of $9,600 ($600 enrollment fee + $9,000 of tuition) is required before we will send out the I-20. The I-20 is the first step to obtaining an F1 Student Visa. Families must make an appointment with their local United States consulate or embassy to obtain an F1 student visa. International students must have an F1 student visa before they can start classes at Farragut. If you are not able to obtain a student visa, your deposit will be refunded.

When should I start the admissions process?

Admiral Farragut Academy invites students to submit their applications at any time throughout the year. After the Admissions Process Checklist is complete, students may begin the Enrollment Process.

The application priority deadline for the 2014-2015 school year is March 15, 2014. Applications received after March 15 will be considered on a rolling basis as spaces become available. Please call the Admissions Office at 727-384-5500 ext 220 or email admissions@farragut.org to inquire about grade-level openings. 

What type of students attend Farragut?

Admiral Farragut Academy admits young men and women of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school.
