This week, the Farragut baseball and softball teams will try to cap their successful seasons with equally impressive runs in the postseason. The baseball team already has secured its best season in over a decade while the softball team has continued its recent dominance.
To make up for the lack of a Senior Night for Boys and Girls Soccer at Farragut, Boys Soccer captain Mikey Tauber created an event at the end of school on March 25 that pitted the faculty and girls soccer team members versus the boys soccer team.
The Farragut lacrosse team wrapped up its 2015 season with a victory over Sarasota Military Academy. Other highlights of the year included the addition of the program's first female player, Veronica Levine. In addition, the team had an international feel to it with players hailing from the Bahamas, Canada, China, Panama, Switzerland, and the Ukraine. While other players came from states like Florida, Indiana, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania.
The Farragut baseball team is on pace to win more games this season than the past five years combined, under the guidance of first-year coach Tom Beck.
This past Saturday, Enmon (pictured) and McGee, despite starting their journeys for different reasons and at different periods in their life, cemented themselves in history on the same day, becoming the first Admiral Farragut Academy wrestlers to win state titles.
Brittany McGee was featured on website this past week in a feature called, "In Her Own Words." In the story that she penned, Brittany discusses her career as a high school athlete coming to a close this spring and what it's like being a boarding student at Farragut.
Please join the Aviation department in congratulating James Blanton on earning his solo endorsement. James flew solo for the first time on March 4, 2015 at Albert Whitted airport on runway 18 in a Cessna 172, tail number 54067.
After beginning the season with two close defeats, the Lady BlueJackets softball team is on quite a roll. Sandwiched around that loss have been two straight wins and most recently, three consecutive victories.
It was a busy week for the Admiral Farragut Academy athletic teams. Here is a quick recap of the past week's results and highlights. Look for feature stories throughout this week.
Farragut finished with a respectable sixth place showing out of 12 teams at the Class A, District 11 wrestling tournament over the weekend. The BlueJackets had four regional qualifiers. The regional tournament will be held at Tenoroc High School in Lakeland on Saturday.
The Varsity Coed Tennis Team is off to a great start this year. Presently, the girls are 5-1 and the boys are 4-2.
New school records set at City Track Meet last Friday held at Admiral Farragut Academy. The 2015 version of the Farragut Track and Field team has been described as the "best in possibly school history."

A number of firsts occurred this past weekend at the BlueJacket Wrestling Invitational including our Farragut BlueJacket Wrestling Team finishing third out of 13 teams.
The Farragut BlueJacket football team, Exhibition Drill Team and Color Guard joined students at the Nina Harris Center for Exceptional Children for their annual "Super Bowl" game and events.
Tom Beck, the first year coach for the Farragut baseball team, was featured in a recent article in, the website for the Beacon newspaper conglomerate.
With approximately 70 family members and friends in attendance at the Roy M. Speer Student Center, five Admiral Farragut Academy football players signed their letters of intent to play in college, including Dalton Collins, Cole Fagan, Jestin Green, Thomas Silver and Aaron Rodriguez.
Farragut Wrestling continues to find success with their small group of wrestlers this season.
Dalton Collins '15 has joined Cole Fagan '15 as a verbal commitment to the United States Air Force Academy. He will sign his written letter of intent to attend the "Prep School" and play linebacker for the football team in the spring.
Cole Fagan '15 (#42) has accepted an offer from the United States Air Force Academy to attend the military school and compete for the NCAA Division I football program.
Kyle and Austin started singing last year just for fun but has quickly developed into a professional career. Kyle has also started his own line of skin care products called "LXR Organics" after dealing with acne for many years.
Twenty one teams from across the state converged on Somerset Academy in Pembroke Pines, FL this past weekend at a competition called "The Somerset Scuffle". Seven of our BlueJacket wrestlers competed against some of the top wrestlers in the state. Our AFA Wrestlers fought hard and earned a 9th place finish as a team.
Each of them finished in the top five at the Powerade National High School Wrestling Tournament in Pittsburgh, Pa. as McGee placed third in the 170-pound weight class and Enmon took fifth in the 220-pound division.

Former Palm Harbor assistant coach Ron Timpanaro, who replace a retired Calvin Brown, has quickly taken an already strong wrestling program and transformed it into one of the elite programs in the state. The BlueJackets began the 2014-15 campaign as the fourth-ranked team in Class A, according to

"Beyond wrestling, the one thing that many people do not know is that I am a three sport athlete. I play football and I am getting recruited for that at a D1 AA level and I am also a state placer in the Hurdles in Track and Field and plan on trying to win state this year a time under 14.2 seconds in the 110 hurdles."
