Admiral Farragut Academy
Class Agent Program
We know that the best opportunity for Admiral Farragut Academy to stay connected to our alumni is through you the Class Agent. Following is a brief summary of how the relationship works between the Class Agent and the Academy.
Responsibilities of AFA to the Class Agents
- Provide you with updated class lists as the information is passed back to the Alumni & Development Department.
- Provide you with an AFA G-mail address if you desire.
- Provide you with AFA logo's for your use in communicating with classmates.
- Recognition of your status as Class Agent and effective work at regional gatherings, homecoming, in Reveille, on the website and in regular Alumni Fast Blasts.
- Place you on the distribution list to receive the weekly e-mail that goes to parents from the Communications Director at AFA. This gives you excellent information on a regular basis of what is happening within the Academy and the accomplishments of our students and cadets.
- Provide you with a supply of AFA note cards, envelopes and stamps as you desire for communicating with your classmates.
Responsibilities of the Class Agent
Regularly:
- Serve as the primary contact for your classmates and pass on to AFA information on the significant events and accomplishments of your classmates.
- Inform AFA when classmates have moved and provide us with corrections to their contact information as you become aware of their move and also to help to find missing classmates "Man Overboard Program" through your network of classmates.
Annually:
- Be aware of all giving opportunities that relate to Alumni giving to AFA and the AFA Foundation. You don't need to be an expert - just aware.
- Be an advocate for your classmates to attend regional Alumni gatherings.
- Be another set of eyes and ears from conversations with your classmates, as to who has an interest in funding particular initiatives and would appreciate a call with further information from the Alumni & Development Office.
Periodically:
- Be the "initiator" for securing a reunion chairperson for the 5yr, 10yr, 15yr, 20yr, 25yr, 30yr, 35yr, 40yr, 45yr, 50yr, 55yr and 60yr reunions for your class.
Additionally:
- Class agents are welcome to attend the Board Meetings and request information from the Alumni & Development Office at anytime.
- Class agents will be invited to attend a special brunch on Sunday morning of Homecoming weekend as a special thank you.
The future of the Academy is dependent upon a strong base of alumni involvement. Thank you for your willingness to serve Admiral Farragut Academy.
