Message From The President
Dr. Albert "Butch" Andrion '79
March 2010
It is my pleasure to be stepping into the role of Alumni Association President for Admiral Farragut Academy. I am a strong believer in the core “Farragut” values which have been instilled in each of us as members of the Alumni Community, and am looking forward to serving my fellow alumni in this capacity.
Currently, I have 3 daughters enrolled at Farragut, and one 2008 alumna, Amanda, who is now attending the University of South Florida and majoring in Political Science. For nearly 30 years I have lived in the greater St. Petersburg area, but it was not until Amanda graduated that I became involved with the Alumni & Development Staff. Our Alumni team relentlessly searches for information on “lost cadets” and continually creates opportunities to reunite class members. It is my goal to assist them in this effort.
I want to encourage each of you who live in or are visiting the Greater Tampa Bay area to visit Admiral Farragut Academy’s Alumni Centre and AFA museum. By reading Reveille or visiting www.farragut.org, you will get but a glimpse of AFA today. To get a true perspective, you owe it to yourself to plan on attending one or more Alumni campus events or regional gatherings in the near future.
Please remember to thank Christian Wagner ‘82, your previous Alumni President, for his unselfish dedication and service to the Alumni Association and the Academy as a whole. Now assuming the role of the AFA Foundation President, Christian will oversee and nurture the growth of our Academy’s endowment. The growth of our endowment is a top priority and vital for Farragut’s sustainability and ability to teach Farragut’s core values till perpetuity. Congratulations Christian, and thank you.
