Ways to Give
When considering your gift to Admiral Farragut Academy or the Admiral Farragut Academy Foundation, you have many options including:
Online Giving (through a credit card or bank account) which includes:
- Online one-time gift
- Online regular gifting
- Online pledges
By mail including:

Online Giving:
AFA is pleased to be able to offer as a convenience to our donors, the ability to make a gift or pledge online either by using a credit card or bank account (e-check) of their choice. VISA, MasterCard, American Express and Discover cards are all accepted for online contributions. We are committed to the security of your transaction and for that reason use only an online giving provider that is fully PCI Compliant. This ensures the highest level of security for your payment processing. Through shielding of data, your credit card number and banking information remain secure at the financial institution level.
By going to http://www.supportfarragut.org/ all of the following online giving options are available to you. In all cases you may select the purpose for your gift from either the drop-down selections presented or designate your gift for something specific that is important to you.
When at the Online giving page select:
Donation: to make either a one-time gift or establish regular gifting (weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual or annual) by selecting the Donation Frequency of your choosing
or
Pledges: similarly to make a pledge, click on the Pledge button and you will be presented with options for establishing a pledge on your terms which will be fulfilled with no further effort by you.
For all online transactions, an immediate e-mail will be sent to the donor at the e-mail address provided. This e-mail will give confirmation of the transaction. The donor will also receive an "official" gift acknowledgement letter by mail from AFA or the Foundation which will serve as the gift receipt for tax purposes.
By Mail
Check: Whenever sending a contribution of a check by mail, please make the check payable to either Admiral Farragut Academy or the Admiral Farragut Academy Foundation. In the memo section of the check please indicate the purpose of the contribution. All checks should be mailed to:

Credit Card: If you are making a credit card contribution by mail, please make sure that you complete all the information that is requested on the pledge card. If you wish to make a contribution using your credit card but do not have a pledge card and do not want to use the online donation website, please call us with your credit card information and we can take your information over the phone.
Other Types of Gifts
Gift In-Kind
Often a donor finds that they can make an in-kind gift to AFA of goods, services or equipment. If you feel you have the opportunity to give to the Academy in this manner please contact the Alumni and Development Office prior to making a gift of this type to confirm the nature of the gift and its intended use. In return for in-kind gifts, the Academy will provide confirmation of receipt of such gifts; however it is the responsibility of the donor to indicate the value of such contributions.
Matching Gifts
Matching gifts from corporations and foundations are a very important source of fundraising and are a great resource for donors to enhance their recognized level of giving to the Academy. All matching gifts will be soft-credited to that donor for the purpose that they choose. Guidelines for such gifts vary from company to company. Specific questions regarding matching gifts should be directed to the donor's employer Human Resource office.
Appreciated Assets -Stocks, Bonds and Real Property
Gifts of securities provide a significant savings for the donor by avoiding capital gains taxes, while offering a good degree of tax deductibility. If you are interested in making a gift of appreciated stocks or bonds please contact the Alumni and Development Office at 727-343-3678 or by email at joverton@farragut.org and we can give your further directions for this type of transaction.
If you are interested in gifting real property (real estate, a boat, a car or other tangible assets) please contact the Alumni and Development Office with details of your intended gift.
