Middle School

AFA's athletic philosophy within the Middle School is that  properly preparing a cadet's mind and body for competition is more important than the outcome of the contest. We offer excellent programs that allow cadets the chance to participate regardless of athletic ability. We feel that it is far more desirable to suit up and participate than to sit and spectate. Although we do not require our cadets to participate in sports, the vast majority of them do. Middle School sports have policy in which all cadets who attend practice regularly and earn the right to play, do so.

AFA is a member of the Florida High School Activities Association (FHSAA). Under the FHSAA rules, only cadets in grades 6-12 may participate in interscholastic sports.  Some 8th grade cadets with strong athletic ability and/or are big in stature may participate at the High School level with parental permission and the Athletic Director's consent.
