For The Boarding Cadet
One of the great rewards of a boarding/day school is many of our students and faculty
living where they learn and teach. Academic life at AFA is supplemented by a wide variety of athletics, arts programs, and club activities. Finally, the residential aspect of boarding school life offers a unique global learning experience for everyone. All aspects of daily life -- academic, athletic, artistic, recreational and residential -- are pursued among our close-knit community of students and teachers.
Admiral Farragut Academy has a proud history and tradition as a boarding school. On average, our students come from over 16 states, the US Virgin Islands, and 15 countries. These student along with our Florida boarders comprising over forty percent of our Middle and High School population.
AFA has always placed a strong emphasis on residential life. With an experienced, dedicated, and versatile residential life staff and an emphasis on residential curriculum, our diverse program of educational and recreational activities ensure age appropriate social development on a global scale. Residential Life becomes an extension of the academic curricula and so creating "classrooms without walls."
Students staying in the USA for the entire school year are offered the chance to spend their vacation time during thanksgiving and spring breaks exploring other areas of the nation.
