Center for Academic Success

The Center for Academic Success provides a rich learning environment for all students, encouraging them to use their unique learning strengths and styles to become successful and confident life-long learners. Our dedicated staff of teachers and learning specialists works with students to develop and fine tune skills for success in the classroom. Our range of services offers students with varied strengths and weaknesses the opportunity to approach learning in the most meaningful and beneficial ways.

Morning and Afternoon Tutorial
Students are encouraged and expected to take advantage of FREE tutorial from 7:25-7:55 AM and 3:05-3:35 PM on Monday-Friday and are expected to report to their first period class by 8:00 AM.

Our Services

Educational Testing
Educational testing may identify strengths and weaknesses which need to be addressed in the educational setting. The center offers educational testing that will assist teachers and support staff as they develop an educational plan for your child. Fees vary $100 - $500.

Interactive Metronome
This program addresses motor planning and sequencing by working on the internal/external rhythm and timing of the body. It has proven to be very successful in improving academic and physical performance. Students typically undergo 12 to 15 one hour sessions, depending on specific needs and progress. Academic Coaching/Study Skills
Held during the academic day, as an alternative elective class and limited to four students. Students are taught study habits and organizational skills that are necessary to maintain the high academic expectations of the Academy.
Middle School $800 / Quarter. High School $1,600 / Semester. 

Instructional Period Replacement
For the student with learning differences that impede success in the traditional classroom, this is as an alternative to the traditional English or Math class. A course geared toward the student’s specific needs and interests. Also entitles student to Study Zone at no charge. $5,000 Annual Fee.

Weekly Project Planning
Students get the opportunity to receive FREE guidance one time a week in planning their study time for the week in order to maximize results and ensure projects and assignments are completed accurately and on time.

Individualized Reading Programs
Our staff of dedicated educators will tailor a reading program to meet the specific needs of your child. Lindamood-Bell® programs and multi-sensory methods are integrated with other proven reading improvement strategies to develop an individualized reading program. Initial Evaluation $100, 90 minutes / week $100, Additional Sessions $55 / hour.

Subject Specific Tutoring

  • One-to-One Tutoring - Students in need of tutoring in a specific academic subject area will be paired with a tutor with expertise in the subject area. The tutoring will occur after the academic day is completed. $65 / hour.
  • Peer Tutoring - Students often just need assistance with note taking, lecture review, or a study buddy. The peer-tutoring program offers students the opportunity to buddy up with someone from the same class or someone who has excelled in the subject area to assist the student as they master subject content.

Kurzweil Assistive Technology
Reading, writing and study skills assistive software helps students overcome learning challenges. Annual software license available. $600 / Academic Year. Click here for more Info
